The Lowell Fire Department - provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the city of Lowell, Massachusetts. In all, the department is responsible for 14.5 square miles with a population of 108,522 residents.

The Lowell Fire Department has 13 companies strategically located around the city. These companies provide services to but are not limited to that neighborhood. The LFD does not just respond to fires. In addition to fire incidents, the LFD responds to calls for emergency medical services, hazardous materials incidents, ice and water rescues/recoveries, automobile accidents, including extrications, and technical and high-angle rescues. The Administration, the Fire Prevention Bureau, the Fire Investigation Unit, and the Hazardous Materials Division all work together as one team to educate the community and develop various programs to meet our community's needs.
